evaṃvidhairvratairnityaṃ narmadāṃ ye samāśritāḥ /
te mṛtā vaiṣṇavaṃ yānti padaṃ vā śaivam avyayam //

Those who ever take refuge in the Narmadā with vows of such a kind,
when dead, go to the abode of Viṣṇu or the imperishable abode of Śiva.
