mārkaṇḍeya uvāca:
utpattikāraṇaṃ brahmā devadevaḥ prakīrtitaḥ /
prathamaṃ sarvabhūtānāṃ carācarajagadguruḥ //
Mārkaṇḍeya said: / Brahmā, the god of gods, is proclaimed as the cause of origin, / the first of all beings, the teacher of the world of the moving and unmoving.
