dvijātayo mukhājjātāḥ kṣatriyā bāhuyantrataḥ /
ūrupradeśād vaiśyāstu śūdrāḥ pādeṣvathābhavan //
The twice-born were born from the mouth; the kṣatriyas from the device of his arms; / the vaiśyas from the thigh region; and then the śūdras arose on his feet.
