na dhanaṃ paitṛkaṃ putrairna pitā putrapautrikam /
bhuñjate sakalaṃ kālamityevaṃ śaṅkaro 'bravīt //
The sons do not enjoy ancestral wealth, nor the father the wealth of sons and grandsons, / for all time; so Śaṅkara has declared.
