Revākhaṇḍa (Vāyupurāṇa) 142.12

yataḥ suvarṇatilako janmanā saha bhārata /
tataḥ sā rukmiṇīnāma brāhmaṇaiḥ kīrtitā tadā //
Because a golden mark [was present] together with her birth, O descendant of Bharata,
she was therefore called by the name of Rukmiṇī by the Brahmins at that time.
