gāyanti sāmāni yajūṃṣi cānye chandāṃsi cānye ṛcamudgiranti /
stotrair anekair apare gṛṇanti maheśvaraṃ tatra mahānubhāvāḥ //
[where] some sing the Sāman hymns, others the Yajus formulas, others recite meters and chant the Ṛg verses, / and others of great majesty praise Maheśvara there with manifold hymns—
