mārkaṇḍeya uvāca:
śṛṇu pārtha mahāpraśnaṃ kathayāmi yathāśrutam /
sakāśādbrahmaṇaḥ pūrvamṛṣidevasamāgame //
Mārkaṇḍeya said:
Listen, O son of Pṛthā, to this profound question; I shall tell it as it was heard
formerly in the presence of Brahmā, at the assembly of sages and gods.
