gururātmavatāṃ śāstā rājā śāstā durātmanām /
iha pracchannapāpānāṃ śāstā vaivasvato yamaḥ //
The spiritual guide is the chastiser of the self-controlled; the king is the chastiser of the wicked;
here [in this world], Yama, son of Vivasvat, is the chastiser of those whose sins are hidden.
