mārkaṇḍeśvaravṛkṣānyo dūrasthān api paśyati /
brahmahatyādipāpebhyo mucyate śaṅkaro 'bravīt //

Whoever sees the trees of Mārkaṇḍeśvara even from afar
is freed from sins such as the killing of a brāhmaṇa; Śaṅkara has said [this].
