tato bhukte mahādeve sarvadevamaye śive /
puṣpavṛṣṭiḥ papātāśu gaganāttasya mūrdhani /
tasyāstikyaṃ tu saṃlakṣya tuṣṭaḥ provāca śaṅkaraḥ //

Then, when Mahādeva, auspicious and composed of all gods, had eaten, / a shower of flowers instantly fell from the sky onto his head. / Observing his faith, pleased Śaṅkara spoke:
