śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca:
ataḥ paraṃ pravakṣyāmi bhṛgutīrthasya vistaram /
yaṃ śrutvā brahmahā goghno mucyate sarvapātakaiḥ //
The venerable Mārkaṇḍeya said: / Hereafter I shall declare in detail the pilgrimage place of Bhṛgu, / hearing which even the slayer of a brāhmaṇa or the killer of a cow is freed from all sins.
