tripauruṣā bhavedvidyā tripuruṣaṃ na bhaveddhanam /
na dvitīyastu vo vedaḥ paṭhito bhavati dvijāḥ //

[Your] learning will last for three generations; [your] wealth will not last for three generations.
Nor, O Brahmins, will a second Veda ever be studied by you.
