śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca:
tataḥ sa muniśārdūlas tān uvāca tapodhanān /
doṣataḥ kiṃ gamiṣyāmi na hi me 'nyo parādhyati //

Śrī Mārkaṇḍeya said: / Then that tiger among sages said to those ascetics: / 'Whom shall I blame for this fault? Indeed, no other person has offended me.'
