yasmāttvayā kaṣṭagatena nityaṃ smṛtaścāhaṃ manasā pūjitaśca /
gaurīsahāyastena ihāgato 'smi brūhyadya kṛtyaṃ kriyatāṃ kiṃ nu vipra //

Since, having fallen into distress, I have been constantly remembered and worshipped in mind by you, / I have therefore come here accompanied by Gaurī. Tell me now your need: what shall be done, O brāhmaṇa?'
