aṣṭamyāṃ vā caturdaśyāṃ vaiśākhe māsi pūrvavat /
dīpaṃ piṣṭamayaṃ kṛtvā pitḥn sarvān vimokṣayet //
Or on the eighth or fourteenth day in the month of Vaiśākha, as before,
having made a lamp of dough, he would liberate all the ancestors.
