tāvadyāvatkṣayaṃ sarve gatāḥ kāle susaṃcitāḥ /
sthitaṃ samunnataṃ liṅgaṃ dṛṣṭvā śokamupāgamat //
Until all that had been carefully amassed over time were exhausted; / seeing the liṅga still standing tall, he fell into despair.
