221.10

śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca:
iti bruvanneva hi dhāturagre haṃsaḥ śvasatyakṣipūjyaḥ sudīnaḥ /
tiryañcaṃ māṃ pāpinaṃ mūḍhabuddhiṃ prabho puraḥ patitaṃ pāhi pāhi //

Śrī Mārkaṇḍeya said: / Indeed, while speaking thus before the Creator, the swan, worthy of eye-worship, sighed very miserably: / 'Protect, protect me, a sinful, foolish animal fallen before [you], O Lord!
