228.1

yudhiṣṭhira uvāca:
parārthaṃ tīrthayātrāyāṃ gacchataḥ kasya kiṃ phalam /
kiyanmātraṃ muniśreṣṭha tanme brūhi kṛpānidhe //

Yudhiṣṭhira said: / When someone goes on a pilgrimage on behalf of another, what fruit is for whom, / and how much is it, O best of sages? Tell me that, O ocean of compassion!
