anusaṅgena tīrthasya snāne snānaphalaṃ viduḥ /
naiva yātrāphalaṃ tajjñāḥ śāstroktaṃ kalmaṣāpaham //
Those who know understand that in a sacred bath taken through casual association with a pilgrimage place, there is the fruit of the bath, / but not the fruit of the pilgrimage prescribed by scripture that removes sin.
