śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca:
śṛṇvantu ṛṣayaḥ sarve tvaṃ ca tāta yudhiṣṭhira /
purāṇaṃ narmadāyāṃ tu kathitaṃ ca triśūlinā //
The glorious Mārkaṇḍeya said:
Let all the sages listen, and you too, dear Yudhiṣṭhira,
to the purāṇa concerning the Narmadā, told by the wielder of the trident.
