vāyoḥ sakāśācca mayā tenāpi ca maheśvarāt /
aśakyatvānmanuṣyāṇāṃ saṃkṣiptam ṛṣibhiḥ purā //

From the presence of Vāyu it was heard by me, and by him from Maheśvara;
because of the incapacity of human beings, it was abridged of old by the sages.
