guhāmadhyaṃ praviṣṭo 'sau yogābhyāsamupāśritaḥ /
liṅgaṃ tu sthāpitaṃ tena mārkaṇḍeśvarasaṃjñitam //
Having entered the midst of the cave, resorting to the practice of yoga, / the liṅga was installed by him, named Mārkaṇḍeśvara.
