tataḥ saṃtoṣito deva umāpatir narādhipa /
devendratvaṃ varaṃ rājyaṃ dānavānāṃ vadhaṃ dadau //

Then the god, Umā's lord, pleased [with him], O ruler of men, / granted the sovereignty of the gods, a boon, kingdom, and the slaying of the Dānavas.
