labdhaṃ śakreṇa nṛpate narmadātīrthabhāvataḥ /
tataḥ puṇyatamaṃ tīrthaṃ saṃjātaṃ vasudhātale //
It was obtained by Śakra, O king, through the power of the pilgrimage place on the Narmadā; / hence it became the most meritorious pilgrimage place on the surface of the earth.
