Revākhaṇḍa ascribed to the Vāyupurāṇa (RKV) 78.18

78.18

chatraṃ tatra pradātavyaṃ brāhmaṇe śubhalakṣaṇe /
śastreṇa tu hatā ye vai teṣāṃ śrāddhaṃ pradāpayet /
te yānti paramaṃ lokaṃ piṇḍadānaprabhāvataḥ //

An umbrella should be given there to a brāhmaṇa endowed with auspicious marks.
And for those who were killed by a weapon, one should offer a śrāddha;
they go to the supreme world by the power of the gift of a rice-ball.
