śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca:
sugrīvahanumadbhyāṃ ca kumudenāṅgadena ca /
etairanyaiḥ sahāyaiśca rāmacandreṇa vai jitaḥ //

Śrī Mārkaṇḍeya said: / With Sugrīva and Hanumān, and with Kumuda and Aṅgada, / with these and other allies, he was indeed defeated by Rāmacandra.
