ātmānaṃ kanyayā dattaṃ pūrvajanma vyacintayan /
sā ca taṃ prauḍhamālokya piturājñāmavāpya ca /
svayaṃvare svabhartāraṃ lebhe sādhvī nṛpātmajam //
Remembering his former birth and that he had been bestowed [his state] by the maiden, / and she, seeing him grown to maturity and having obtained her father's permission, / the virtuous woman chose that prince as her husband in a svayaṃvara.
