śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca:
etadvṛttāntam abhavat tasmiṃstīrthe nṛpottama /
etasmāt kāraṇānmedhyaṃ tīrtham etat sadā nṛpa //
Śrī Mārkaṇḍeya said: / This event took place at that pilgrimage place, O best of kings; / for this reason, O king, this pilgrimage place is ever pure.
