śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca:
tato gacchettu rājendra narmadāyāḥ purātanam /
brahmahatyāharaṃ tīrthaṃ vārāṇasyā samaṃ hi tat //

Glorious Mārkaṇḍeya said:
Then one should go, O king of kings, to the ancient pilgrimage place of the Narmadā
which destroys the murder of a brahmin, for it is equal to Vārāṇasī.
