yudhiṣṭhira uvāca:
āścaryaṃ kathyatāṃ brahmanyadvṛttaṃ narmadātaṭe /
vārāṇasyā samaṃ kasmād etat kathaya me prabho //
Yudhiṣṭhira said:
Let this wonder be told, O brahmin, which took place on the bank of the Narmadā!
Why is it equal to Vārāṇasī? Tell me this, O lord!
