śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca:
tato gacchenmahārāja piṅgalāvartam uttamam /
saṅgamasya samīpasthaṃ revāyā uttare taṭe /
havyavāhena rājendra sthāpitaḥ piṅgaleśvaraḥ //

Glorious Mārkaṇḍeya said: / Then one should go, O great king, to the excellent Piṅgalāvarta / situated near the confluence on the northern bank of the Revā. / Piṅgaleśvara was established [there] by the fire-god, O chief of kings.
