śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca:
sādhu sādhu mahāprājña pṛṣṭo 'haṃ nṛpanandana /
snānārthaṃ narmadāṃ puṇyāmāgataste pitā purā //
Glorious Mārkaṇḍeya said: / Excellent, excellent, O greatly wise one, son of a king, since you have asked me! / Long ago, your father came to the meritorious Narmadā for a bath.
