yenākūtavaśādapīha varade ! binduṃ vināpyakṣaram .
tasyāpi dhruvameva devi ! tarasā jāte tavānugrahe
vācaḥ sūktisudhārasadravamuco niryānti vaktrāmbujāt .. 3 ..

Seeing a terrifying object, whoever in this world suddenly utters 'ai, ai!'—
even without the dot, O Bestower of boons!, through the force of intent—
for him too, O Goddess!, once Your grace has swiftly arisen,
speeches pouring out the fluid nectar of eloquent verse pour forth from his lotus mouth. || 3
