corresponds essentially to your name 'Tripurā'—this is how it is to be construed. By the phrase 'whatever entity', there is understood the triad of dharma and the rest, the triad of waking and the other [states], the triad of morning and the other [times of day], the triad of the suṣumnā and the rest, the triad of the vyāhṛtis, the triad of time, the triad of grammatical persons, the triad of genders, the triad of numbers, the triad of causes, the triad of fire and the other [elements], and so forth. Thus, consisting of word and meaning, transcending both because of being their cause, and having the nature of self-luminous, unbroken consciousness of bliss, the supreme and non-supreme (parāpara) form of the Goddess has been revealed here in two verses—so let there be auspiciousness. In this manner, the true nature of the deity of the mantra, who is the meaning of the word Tripurā, has been declared in the preceding text from the beginning, both in summary and at length. And that should be known by seekers of the four ends of human life, without distinction of female and male,
