kimahaṃ maṇipāduke tvayā me sulabhe raṅganidhau śriyā sanāthe |
karaṇāni punaḥ kadarthayeyaṃ kṛpaṇadvāradurāsikādiduḥkhaiḥ ||

When through you, O gemmed sandal, the treasure of Raṅgam accompanied by Śrī is easily attained by me, / why should I torment my senses again with the miseries of waiting in distress at the gates of the wretched?

English (machine translation) (machine translation)

sakṛdapyanubhūya raṅgabhartustvadupaśleṣamanoharaṃ padābjam |
apunarbhavakautukaṃ tadaiva praśamaṃ gacchati pāduke munīnām ||

aparasparapātināmamīṣā-manidampūrvanirūḍhasantatīnām |
bharatavyasanādanūnasīmnāṃ duritānāṃ mama niṣkṛtistvamāsīḥ ||

For those sins of mine falling continuously upon one another, an unbroken series from beginningless time, / whose extent is no less than the sorrow of Bharata, you have become the expiation.

English (machine translation) (machine translation)

32.6

tvadupāsanasaṃpradāyavidbhiḥ samaye sāttvatasevite niyuktāḥ |
bharatavratino bhavāmburāśiṃ katicit kāñcanapāduke taranti ||

Appointed at the right moment by those who know the tradition of your worship, in the manner practiced by the Sātvatas, / some souls observing the vow of Bharata cross the ocean of mundane existence, O golden sandal.

English (machine translation) (machine translation)

32.7

alamacyutapāduke yathāva-tbhavatī yacca padaṃ tvadekadhāryam |
itaretarabhūṣitaṃ tadeta-tdvitayaṃ saṃvananāya cetaso naḥ ||

O sandal of Acyuta, you and that foot which is to be borne by you alone / sufficiently adorn each other, this pair, to captivate our minds!

English (machine translation) (machine translation)

32.8

ananyasāmānyatayā murāre-raṅgeṣvavāpteṣu kirīṭamukhyaiḥ |
pādāvani tvaṃ nijameva bhāgaṃ sarvātmasādhāraṇatāmanaiṣīḥ ||

While Murāri's limbs were attained by the crown and other [ornaments] / as exclusive possessions, / O foot-protector, you have made your own share / common to all souls.

English (machine translation) (machine translation)

32.9

samāśritānāṃ maṇipāduke tvāṃ vipaścitāṃ viṣṇupade'pyanāsthā |
kathaṃ punaste kṛtino bhajeran vāsādaraṃ vāsavarājadhānyām ||

O gem sandal, for the wise who take refuge in you, / there is indifference even toward Viṣṇu's abode; / how then could those blessed ones entertain / any longing to dwell in Indra's capital?

English (machine translation) (machine translation)

32.10

vimṛśya raṅgeśvarapādarakṣe vārakramaṃ nūnamavāraṇīyam |
padmāgrahe'pi spṛśatī pratītā sthūlena rūpeṇa vasundharā tvām ||

O footwear of the Lord of Raṅgam, considering the unavoidable order / of turns, surely, / even though Padmā holds [his feet], the Earth, well known, / touches you in her gross form.

English (machine translation) (machine translation)

32.11

abhirakṣasi tvamanapāyanidhiṃ maṇipāduke madhubhidaścaraṇam |
ata eva devi tadananyadhanāḥ śirasā vahanti bhavatīṃ kṛtinaḥ ||

O gem sandal, you protect the imperishable treasure, / the foot of the slayer of Madhu; / for this very reason, O goddess, those fortunate ones who have no other wealth / carry you upon their heads.

English (machine translation) (machine translation)

32.12

padayugamiva pāduke murāre-rbhavati vibhūtirakaṇṭakā tvayaiva |
kathamiva hṛdayāni bhāvukānāṃ tvadanubhavādupajātakaṇṭakāni ||

O sandal, just as Murāri's pair of feet, / his domain is made thornless solely by you; / how is it that the hearts of the noble-minded / have bristles rising with joy from experiencing you?

English (machine translation) (machine translation)

32.13

jñānakriyābhajanasīmavidūravṛtte-rvaideśikasya tadavāptikṛtāṃ guṇānām |
maulau mamāsi madhusūdanapāduke tvaṃ gaṅgeva hanta patitā vidhinaiva paṅgoḥ ||

Remaining far from the bounds of knowledge, ritual action, and loving devotion, / a stranger to the virtues that bring about their attainment, / you, O Madhusūdana's sandal, stand upon my head, / alas, by fate alone, like the Gaṅgā fallen before a lame man!

English (machine translation) (machine translation)

32.14

raṅgeśvarasya yadiyaṃ maṇipādarakṣe pādāravindayugalaṃ bhavatīsametam |
puṃsāmupoṣitavilocanapāraṇārhaṃ kṣīraṃ tadetadiha śarkarayā sametam ||

O gem footwear, when this pair of lotus feet of the Lord of Raṅgam / is united with you, / it is milk blended with sugar, / fit to break the fast of people's starved eyes.

English (machine translation) (machine translation)

32.15

kāmādidoṣarahitaṃ tvadananyakāmāḥ karma trayodaśavidhaṃ pariśīlayantaḥ |
pādāvani tvadanuṣaṅgaviśeṣadṛśya-mekāntinaḥ paricaranti padaṃ murāreḥ ||

Free from desire and other faults, desiring nothing but you, / cultivating the thirteenfold ritual duty, / whole-minded devotees attend upon Murāri's foot, / made wondrous to behold by contact with you, O foot-protector.

English (machine translation) (machine translation)

32.16

maulau sthitā makhabhujāmathavā śrutīnāṃ tadraṅgarājacaraṇāvani vaibhavaṃ te |
asmādṛśāmapi yadi prathitaṃ tataḥsyā-tsaulabhyamamba tadidaṃ tava sārvabhaumam ||

O foot-protector of Raṅgarāja, whether resting on the heads of the gods / or of the Vedas, that is your grandeur; / yet if it is extended even to people like us, / then this easy accessibility of yours, O Mother, is sovereign over all.

English (machine translation) (machine translation)

32.17

svapne'pi cet tvamasi mūrdhani sanniviṣṭā namrasya me narakamardanapādarakṣe |
sthāne tadetadiha devi yataḥ samādhau santo vidustamapi tādṛśabuddhigamyam ||

Even if only in a dream you are placed upon the head / of me who bow, O footwear of the crusher of Naraka, / that is fitting here, O goddess, since in meditation / the virtuous know even him through such an operation of the mind.

English (machine translation) (machine translation)

32.18

baddhāñjaliḥ paricaranniyameva raṅge viśrāṇitācyutanidhiṃ maṇipāduke tvām |
kasyāpi kūṇitadṛśo dhaninaḥ purastā-duttānayeya na kadā'pi karaṃ vikośam ||

Serving here in Raṅgam with folded hands / you who have bestowed the treasure that is Acyuta, O gem sandal, / never may I stretch out an open hand / before any rich man with squinting eyes!

English (machine translation) (machine translation)

32.19

tvayyarpitena caraṇena sadadhvabhājaḥ pādāvani prathitasāttvikabhāvadṛśyāḥ |
raṅgeśavadvidadhate muhuraṅgahārān raṅge mahīyasi naṭā iva bhāvukāste ||

With feet placed upon you, treading the good path, / visible by their renowned sattva-born emotions, / those blessed devotees, like actors on a grand stage, / repeatedly display their bodily movements like the Lord of Raṅgam, O foot-protector.

English (machine translation) (machine translation)

32.20

yena sthitā śirasi me vidhinā'dhunā tvaṃ tenaiva devi niyataṃ mama sāmparāye |
lakṣyīkariṣyasi padāvani raṅganāthaṃ lakṣmīpadāmburuhayāvakapaṅkalakṣyam ||

By the same dispensation through which you now rest upon my head, / by that very dispensation, O goddess, at the hour of death, / you will surely bring within my sight Raṅganātha, / marked with the red lac of Lakṣmī's lotus feet, O foot-covering.

English (machine translation) (machine translation)

32.21

haricaraṇasaroje bhaktibhājāṃ janānā-manukaraṇaviśeṣairātmanaivopahāsyam |
pariṇamaya dayārdrā pāduke tādṛśaṃ māṃ bharatapariṣadantarvartibhiḥ prekṣaṇīyam ||

Through special mimicry of those devoted / to Hari's lotus feet, I have made myself an object of ridicule; / moist with compassion, O sandal, transform me into one / worthy to be seen by those who belong to Bharata's assembly!

English (machine translation) (machine translation)

32.22

duritamapanayantī dūrataḥ pāduke tvaṃ danujamathanalīlāṃ devatāmānayantī |
anitaraśaraṇānāmagrimasyāsya janto-ravaśakaraṇavṛtteragrataḥ sannidheyāḥ ||

Removing sins far away, O sandal, / bringing near the deity whose sport is destroying demons, / may you appear before this creature, the foremost of those with no other refuge, / whose senses are losing control!

English (machine translation) (machine translation)

32.23

caramanigamagīte saptatantau samāpte nijasadanasamīpe prāpayiṣyan vihāram |
jvalanamiva bhavatyoḥ samyagāropayenmāṃ prathamavaraṇavaśyaḥ pāduke raṅganāthaḥ ||

When the sacrifice sung in the final scriptures has ended, / wishing to grant me recreation near his own dwelling, / may Raṅganātha, subdued by my first choice of refuge, / install me fully upon you both, O sandals, as if upon the sacrificial fires!

English (machine translation) (machine translation)

32.24

punarudaranivāsacchedanaṃ sahyasindhoḥ pulinamadhivaseyaṃ puṇyamābrahmalābhāt |
pariṇamati śarīre pāduke yatra puṃsāṃ tvamasi nigamagītā śāśvataṃ mauliratnam ||

May I reside upon the holy bank of the river of the Sahya mountain / that cuts short another dwelling in the womb, until I attain Brahman, / where, as their bodies perish, O sandal, / you are the eternal crest jewel sung by the Vedas for human beings.

English (machine translation) (machine translation)

32.25

bahuvidhapuruṣārthagrāmasīmāntarekhāṃ haricaraṇasarojanyāsadhanyāmananyaḥ |
bharatasamayasiddhāṃ pāduke bhāvayaṃstvāṃ śatamiha śaradaste śrāvayeyaṃ samṛddhim ||

The boundary line for the manifold varieties of human aims, / blessed by resting upon Hari's lotus feet, / established by the tradition of Bharata—meditating on you with single-minded devotion, O sandal, / may I make your splendor heard here for a hundred autumns!

English (machine translation) (machine translation)

32.26

tilakayasi śiro me śauripādavani tvaṃ bhajasi manasi nityaṃ bhūmikāṃ bhāvanākhyām |
vacasi ca vibhavaiḥ svairvyaktimitthaṃ prayātā tadiha pariṇataṃ me tādṛśaṃ bhāgadheyam ||

You mark my head as an ornamental tilaka, O Śauri's foot-protector; / in my mind you constantly assume the role called contemplation; / and in speech you have thus become manifest through your splendors; / therefore, my fortune has ripened into such state!

English (machine translation) (machine translation)

32.27

ajaniṣi ciramādau hanta dehendriyādi-stadanu tadadhikaḥ sannīśvaro'haṃ vabhūva |
atha bhagavata evābhūvamarthādidānīṃ tava punarahamāsaṃ pāduke dhanyajanmā ||

Alas, for long at first I was born as body, senses, and the like; / then, rising above that, I became an independent master; / next, indeed, I became the Lord's own possession; / and now, O sandal, I have become yours, my birth truly blessed!

English (machine translation) (machine translation)

32.28

tvayyāyattau bhagavati śilābhasmanoḥ prāṇadānāṃ-dāstrībālaṃ prathitavibhavau pādapadmau murāreḥ |
tāmevāhaṃ śirasini hitāmadya paśyāmiṃ daivā-dātmādhārāṃ janani bhavatīmātmalābhaprasūtim ||

Dependent on you, O divine one, are Murāri's lotus feet, / whose glory is celebrated from women to children for giving life to stone and dust; / by fortune, today I behold you resting on my head, / the support of the soul, O Mother, the source of attaining the true self.

English (machine translation) (machine translation)

32.29

kathaṅkāraṃ lakśmīkarakamalayogyaṃ nijapadaṃ nidadhyādraṅgeśaḥ kuliśakaṭhine'sminmanasi naḥ |
na cedevaṃ madhye viśati dayayā devi bhavatī nijākāntikṣuṇṇasmaraśaraśikhākaṇṭakatatiḥ ||

How could Raṅgeśa place his own foot, fit for Lakṣmī's lotus hand, / upon this mind of ours, hard as a thunderbolt, / if you, O goddess, did not out of compassion enter in between, / crushing with your own radiance the cluster of thorns that are the tips of Love's arrows?

English (machine translation) (machine translation)

32.30

krīḍālaulyaṃ kimapi samaye pāduke varjayantī nirveśaṃ svaṃ diśasi bhavatīnāthayoḥ śrīdharaṇyoḥ |
māmapyevaṃ janaya madhujitpādayorantaraṅgaṃ raṅgaṃ yā'sau janayasi guṇairbhāratīnṛttaraṅgam ||

Setting aside at the proper time some of their playful restlessness, O sandal, / you bestow your own experience upon your two masters, Śrī and Dharaṇī; / make me too in like manner intimate with the feet of Madhujit, / O you who by your virtues make the stage of Raṅgam into a stage for Sarasvatī's dance!

English (machine translation) (machine translation)

32.31

iti raṅgadhurīṇapāduke tvaṃ stutilakṣeṇa sahasraśo vimṛṣṭā |
saphalaṃ mama janma tāvadeta-tyadihāśāsyamataḥparaṃ kimetat ||

32.32

mātaḥ svarūpamiva raṅgapaterniviṣṭaṃ vācāmasīmani padāvani vaibhavaṃ te |
mohādamiṣṭutavato mama mandabuddhe-rbālasya sāhasamidaṃ dayayā sahethāḥ ||

O Mother, like the very nature of Raṅgapati, / your majesty rests beyond the boundary of words; / since I, slow-witted and childish, have praised you through delusion, / may you patiently endure this audacity of mine with compassion, O foot-covering!

English (machine translation) (machine translation)

32.33

ye nāma bhaktiniyatāḥ kavayo madanye mātaḥ stuvanti madhusūdanapāduke tvām |
lapsye guṇāṃśaviniveśitamānasānāṃ teṣāmahaṃ sabahumānavilokitāni ||

Those poets other than me, established in devotion, / who praise you, O Mother, Madhusūdana's sandal— / from them, whose minds dwell upon even a fraction of virtue, / I shall receive looks filled with great esteem.

English (machine translation) (machine translation)

32.34

saṅgharṣayanti hṛdayānyasatāṃ guṇāṃśe santastu santamapi na prathayanti doṣam |
tadraṅganāthacaraṇāvani te stutīnā-mekā paraṃ sahasatoriha sākṣiṇī tvam ||

Hearts of the wicked feel envy at even a fraction of virtue, / whereas the virtuous do not make known even an existing flaw; / therefore, O foot-protector of Raṅganātha, you alone are the supreme witness / of these thousand praises of yours.

English (machine translation) (machine translation)

32.35

itthaṃ tvameva nijakelivaśādakārṣī-rikṣvākunāthapadapaṅkajayorananyā |
svīyaṃ padāvani mayā sumahaccaritraṃ sīteva devi sahajena kavīśvareṇa ||

Thus, by your own play, wholly devoted / to the lotus feet of the Lord of the Ikṣvākus, / you yourself, O goddess, have had your own great history composed by me, O foot-covering, / just as Sītā did through the born prince of poets.

English (machine translation) (machine translation)

32.36

pṛthukavadanaśaṅkhasparśanītyā kadāci-cchirasi viniṃhitāyāḥ svena bhūmnā tavaiva |
stutiriyamupajñātā manmukhenetyadhīyuḥ paricaraṇaparāste pāduke'pāstadoṣāḥ ||

Through the principle of touching the conch to a child's mouth, / this praise, produced from your own greatness / as you were placed once upon my head, was made known through my mouth— / so may those free of fault, dedicated to your service, recite it, O sandal!

English (machine translation) (machine translation)

32.37

yadisphītā bhaktiḥ praṇaya(va)mukhavāṇīparipaṇaṃ padatrāṇastotraṃ hṛdi bibhṛta raṅgakṣitibhṛtaḥ |
nirunmādo yadvā nirabadhisudhānirjharamuco vacobhaṅgīretā na kathamanurundhe sahṛdayaḥ ||

If your devotion is abundant, hold in your heart this hymn of praise to the foot-covering of the king of Raṅgam, / a wager won by speech whose mouth begins with love; / or else, if free of madness, how could a connoisseur / not cherish these turns of phrase pouring forth a boundless stream of nectar?

English (machine translation) (machine translation)

32.38

jayati yatirājasūktirjayati mukundasya pādukāyugalī |
tadubhayadhanāstrivedīmavandhyayanto jayanti bhuvi santaḥ ||

Victorious is the word of Yatirāja! Victorious is the pair of sandals of Mukunda! / Victorious on earth are the virtuous who hold both as their wealth, / making the triple Veda fruitful!

English (machine translation) (machine translation)

32.38.p1

iti śrīkavitārkikasiṃhasya sarvatantrasvatantrasya śrīmadveṅkaṭanāthasya śrīmadvedāntācāryasya kṛtiṣu śrīraṅganāthapādukāsahasre phalapaddhatiḥ dvātriṃśī ||

Thus ends the thirty-second section, the Section on the Fruit, in the Thousand [Verses] on the Sandals of Śrī Raṅganātha, composed by the illustrious Vedāntācārya, the Lion among poets and logicians, master of all systems, the venerable Veṅkaṭanātha.

iti śrīkavitārkikasiṃhasya sarvatantrasvatantrasya śrīmadveṅkaṭanāthasya śrīmadvedāntācāryasya kṛtiṣu śrīraṅganāthapādukāsahasraṃ sampūrṇam ||

Thus ends the complete Thousand [Verses] on the Sandals of Śrī Raṅganātha, composed by the illustrious Vedāntācārya, the Lion among poets and logicians, master of all systems, the venerable Veṅkaṭanātha.
