Wearing a garland, a wreath, and a woven chaplet of fresh, gold-like flowers / of the golden shower tree blossomed in the dark clouds;
upon his chest is the stainless, slender sacred cord; / on his forehead is the unwinking eye; having slain enmity,
in his hand is an axe with an iron blade; and a three-headed / spear belongs to that undefeated one;
he rides upon a bull; the one joined to him is Umā— / with a body like the crimson sky, crosswise white sharp teeth / like the shining crescent moon of that sky,
braided locks shining and blazing like ignited fire, / a head gleaming with the unripened crescent moon,
according to an ancient tradition unknown / to unaging immortals, sages, or anyone else,
he is wrapped in the striped skin of a powerful tiger, / and his dark throat possesses the hue of a sapphire and a lute: / the world rests beneath the faultless feet of that pure lord.
