ŚĀ 7,17
jāyā pūrvarūpaṃ patir uttararūpaṃ putraḥ saṃhitā retaḥ saṃdhiḥ prajananaṃ saṃdhānam iti sthaviraḥ śākalyaḥ | saiṣā prajāpatisaṃhitā | sa ya evam etāṃ saṃhitāṃ veda saṃdhīyate prajayā paśubhir yaśasā brahmavarcasena svargeṇa lokena sarvam āyur eti ||

"The wife is the first member, the husband the second member, the son the continuous text (saṃhitā), semen the junction, procreation the joining," says the elder Śākalya. This is the Prajāpati-saṃhitā. He who knows this continuous text (saṃhitā) thus is joined with offspring, cattle, fame, brahminical splendour, and the heavenly world; he attains a full lifespan.
