Regarding this, indeed, Saujāta Ārāḷhi used to say:
'These two oblations are [meant for] reclaiming what was not lost.'
He may do them as he pleases;
let him who gives instructions from here [rather] offer these:
'I resort to brahman; let brahman protect me from the nobility; svāhā to brahman!'
That is certainly so.
For he who resorts to the sacrifice resorts to brahman.
For the sacrifice is brahman;
and he who is consecrated is born anew from the sacrifice.
Nobility does not impair him who has resorted to brahman.
He says: 'Let brahman protect me from nobility,' so that brahman may protect him from nobility.
'Svāhā to brahman!'—thereby he propitiates it.
Propitiated, it protects him from nobility.
Then, after the samiṣṭayajus offerings of the anūbandhyā [cow]:
'I resort to nobility; let nobility protect me from brahman; svāhā to nobility!'
That is certainly so. For he who resorts to royal power resorts to nobility.
For royal power is nobility.
Brahman does not impair him who has resorted to nobility.
He says: 'Let nobility protect me from brahman,' so that nobility may protect him from brahman.
'Svāhā to nobility!'—thereby he propitiates it.
Propitiated, it protects him from brahman.
It is through these two oblations that there is no loss of sacrifice and pious deeds for the kṣatriya sacrificer;
therefore, precisely these two should be offered.
