‘Where the gods excluded Indra, saying:
“He plotted against Viśvarūpa, son of Tvaṣṭṛ; he struck down Vṛtra;
he gave over the ascetics to the hyenas; he slew the Arurumaghas;
he contradicted Bṛhaspati!”—
there Indra was deprived of the Soma-drink. Following the deprivation of Indra, the ruling class
was deprived of the Soma-drink. Even when Indra came to have a share in the Soma-drink by stealing the Soma from Tvaṣṭṛ,
even today the ruling class remains deprived of the Soma-drink.
He who knows that draught which belongs to the ruling class deprived of the Soma-drink,
by which the ruling class prospers—
how can they make him get up from the altar?’
‘O brahmin, do you know that draught?’ ‘I do know it.’
‘Then tell it to us, O brahmin!’
‘I shall tell it to you, O king,’ he said.
