If they were to approach the meters in their proper order, they would make the Anuṣṭubhs the last. / The Anuṣṭubh, indeed, is speech. / They would thereby put it outside the sacrifice. / Now, they allot it in the middle of the sacrifice. / These [verses] are: 'Before-conquering of the juice for you' [RS 9.101.1]. / Conquering evil ahead, slaying evil ahead, do these proceed. / What has been conquered, what has been won, they follow after with these: / 'For the intoxicating pressed [soma]; / strike away the dog, O friends, the long-tongued one!' [RS 9.101.1] / The Long-tongued one, indeed, was an Asurī woman. / She used to lick up each soma. / She was in the northern ocean. / Whatever was pressed in the southern ocean, whatever in the eastern, whatever in the western, she used to lick it up from right there. / Indra, desiring to seize her, was not able to seize her. / He said, 'Let no one sacrifice! For this Long-tongued woman licks up every soma.'
