this indeed is the form of the Gāyatrī;
"whirling round with beauty", of the Triṣṭubh;
"the bright somas, mixed with milk", of the Jagatī.
Indeed, this is the form of the meters; with the meters the third pressing is performed.
The third day, indeed, is like the third pressing.
These are Gāyatrī verses having the Jagatī color, made complete through the form of the day.
Indeed, where they make [the ritual] complete through the form of the day, there it succeeds.
Things succeed for him who knows thus.
"These juices have been shed":
this is the anurūpa.
Referring to what has already occurred, with "these, these", they refer back to the preceding ones.
They proceed by the course of the Bṛhat and Rathantara, [and] of the ninefold and fifteenfold stomas.
Regarding this they say: 'With the stotriya they begin the form of the sāman, with the anurūpa that of the day.'
There are the stotriya and the anurūpa.
The stotriya is out-breath; the anurūpa is in-breath.
Equipped with out-breath and in-breath they thus proceed.
