Now these Nākasad [stomas]. The gods indeed mounted up to the heavenly world. Having gone to the heavenly world, they were unsettled together. They desired: 'May we settle in the firmament, in the heavenly world.' They saw these Nākasad stomas; they took them; they sacrificed with them. Thereupon they settled in the firmament, in the heavenly world. Because they settled in the firmament, in the heavenly world, that is why the Nākasads have the nature of Nākasads. 'He indeed settles in the firmament, in the heavenly world, who knows thus,' said Jānaśruteya. Now Vaitahavya used to say: 'In this very world in the beginning Prajāpati created the gods. Then these upper worlds were cut up like wildernesses, inaccessible to chariots, like forest thickets—thus without a way out. Those gods desired: "May we go to the heavenly world."'
