Now, those rays of the sun that are to the north, they are the Ādityas; those that are to the south, they are the Aṅgirases. These Ādityas and Aṅgirases share the same world. He who knows thus attains the same world as the Ādityas and the Aṅgirases. Then there are these two three-day periods: six days. Six indeed are the seasons. In the seasons they thus establish themselves. Then there are these two subsequent three-day periods: just six days. In proper order they thus establish themselves in the seasons. Then there are these six Atirātras, whose Brāhmaṇa has been stated. Then there are these three three-day periods, whose Brāhmaṇa has been stated. Then there are these four three-day periods: twelve days. Twelve months are the year. Having become the months, having crossed beyond the year from the middle, they ascended to the heavenly world.
