1.185

They praised Indra.
He said to them: 'Desiring what, boys, do you praise me?'
'Support us indeed, O Maghavan,' they said.
He placed them between his shoulders.
They hung down as his three humps.
These worlds, being together, went apart threefold.
Proper food followed them threefold.
And they hung down from the three humps of these three worlds as proper food.
He considered: 'If indeed I should win proper food from the three humps of these three worlds,
thereby may I take away these three humps.'
He saw this sāman.
With it, he praised.
With it, he won proper food from the three humps of these three worlds.
With it, he took away these three humps.
Because he won proper food from the three humps of these three worlds, that is the Traikakubha-nature of the Traikakubha.
That sāman is the securing of proper food.
He secures proper food; he becomes an eater of food, the best among his own people, who knows thus.
