By the brahman he indeed prospered in spiritual luster. He who knows thus prospers in spiritual luster by the brahman itself. Its sacrificial gifts are thirty-three. Thirty-three, indeed, are the deities. He attains the domestic priesthood of the deities themselves. A horse is the thirty-fourth. The horse is the form of Prajāpati. Thereby he attains the domestic priesthood of the deities accompanied by Prajāpati. He gives these sacrificial gifts in succession at each soma pressing: he gives eight at the morning pressing, eleven at the midday pressing, twelve at the third pressing, one at the anūbandhyā cow, and one at the udavasānīyā rite; and a horse by thirds at each soma pressing. Now, as to the eight he gives at the morning pressing, the Vasus are eight: he attains the domestic priesthood of the Vasus themselves. Then as to the eleven at the midday pressing, the Rudras are eleven: he attains the domestic priesthood of the Rudras themselves. Then as to the twelve at the third pressing, the Ādityas are twelve: he attains the domestic priesthood of the Ādityas themselves. Then as to the one at the anūbandhyā cow: thereby he attains the domestic priesthood of Mitra and Varuṇa. Then as to the one at the udavasānīyā rite: [he does this thinking,] 'May my sacrificial gift speak at each rite.' Then as to the horse by thirds at each soma pressing: thereby he attains the domestic priesthood of Prajāpati himself.
