Now indeed concerning this computation:
Of this year there are seven hundred and twenty days and nights;
these are nine eighties.
Now of its pressings there are a thousand, eighty, and three;
so many are the pavamāna stotras.
This has been sung in a verse:
"These eight nineties of days and nights belong to the full year;
eighty are the pressings in it, and three, and a thousand, and all the pavamānas."
So it is.
Now of its chants and recitations there are ten thousand and two hundred and sixty.
Now the dhiṣṇya hearth-fires that are distributed in it are ten thousand, eight hundred, and thirty.
This has been sung in a verse:
"Two hundred and sixty in a month, and six, of chants and recitations up to a hundred and up to hundreds;
ten thousand, eight hundred, and thirty in the year are the dhiṣṇyas."
So it is.
