"O Fire, Hotṛ of the gods, you are the Hotṛ of the gods, I of men; tell us this, how it will be! The sāman does not come together, nor the stotriya verse; my worlds do not unite." The sacrificer's world becomes wider. If the sāman were to come together, if the stotriya verse, if these worlds were to unite, the sacrificer's world would be narrower. The Gāyatra comes together. The Gāyatra, indeed, is breath. For breath comes together everywhere. The Yajñāyajñīya comes together. The Yajñāyajñīya, indeed, is speech. For speech and breath come together everywhere. Two sāmans come together; the sacrificer is two-footed, for firm establishment. He becomes firmly established, who knows thus.
