Now, he who desires procreative power should sacrifice with that rite of which the three-day period of Jyotis, Go, and Āyus is in the middle of the Pṛṣṭhya-six-day rite. The Pṛṣṭhya-six-day rite is the self; these stomas are procreative power. Because the three-day period of Jyotis, Go, and Āyus is in the middle, he places procreative power right in the middle of his self; he becomes many, he is propagated. Now, he who should desire, 'May I go to the heavenly world, may I stand firm back in this world,' should sacrifice with that rite which has an ascending six-day rite and a descending three-day rite. By the six-day rite he goes upward from here to the heavenly world; by the three-day rite he descends back from there. He goes to the heavenly world, and he stands firm back in this world. And he knows, 'He who was that one yonder, that I am'; he is born again in this world. Now, he who should also desire, 'May I go to the heavenly world, may I stand firm back in this world,' should sacrifice with that rite which has an ascending three-day rite and a descending six-day rite. By the three-day rite he goes upward from here to the heavenly world; by the six-day rite he descends back from there. He goes to the heavenly world, and he stands firm back in this world. And he knows, 'He who was that one yonder, that I am'; he is born again in this world. Now, he who desires the heavenly world should sacrifice with that rite which has an ascending six-day rite and an ascending three-day rite. These stomas are ascending; the heavenly world is ascending, for the attainment of the heavenly world alone.
