Now, this twenty-five-night rite is indeed the concentrated sap of the year, for every form of the year is performed in this: these two Atirātras, these two days—the opening day and the Mahāvrata day—these two pṛṣṭhyas, these Viśvajit and Abhijit, these Svarasāman days, this Viṣuvant. Those who consider themselves as if having begun all desires should undertake this very twenty-five-night rite; having attained [their desire], they rise from this sacrificial session. Now, this sacrificial session which is this twenty-five-night rite is commensurate with man. Ten are the fingers of a man's hands, ten are those of his feet, four are the main limbs, and the self is the twenty-fifth; six are these joints, six these, six these, six these, and the self is the twenty-fifth; twelve are these ribs, twelve these, and the self is the twenty-fifth. Truly with this they complete a man, they generate a man. Regarding this they say: 'Truly they ascend toward a better condition who undertake this twenty-five-night rite.' That there is a backward pṛṣṭhya six-day rite beyond [the Viṣuvant] is for conciliation, for avoidance of distress, for auspiciousness, and for peace. They rise [from the session] following the Mahāvrata day; the Mahāvrata is food; having thus become established in food, they attain the completion. The concluding Atirātra is addressed to Vaiśvānara, for non-sacrificial Soma rituals terminate in Vaiśvānara.

and a season is visibly the prosperity of the year.
