śalmalirvṛddhyeti śalmalau vṛddhiṃ dadhāti tasmācalmalirvanaspatīnāṃ varṣiṣthaṃ vardhate
'The cotton-tree with growth,'--he confers growth on the cotton-tree (salmalia malabarica), whence the cotton-tree grows largest amongst trees.
